A regional workshop for representatives of Far Eastern Federal District regulatory authorities and the private sector to prepare AML/CFT personnel for the FATF mutual evaluation was held on 3-4 September 2018 at Pacific National University (Khabarovsk).
The workshop was organized by the Federal Financial Monitoring Service, the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring, Rosfinmonitoring's Far Eastern Federal District office and Pacific National University.
Among the topics discussed were the use of the Methodology for Assessing Technical Compliance with the FATF Recommendations and Effectiveness of the AML/CFT Systems to assess the effectiveness of oversight measures (Immediate Outcome 3), the use of the risk-based approach to supervision (using Rosfinmonitoring as an example), interagency cooperation and the format of cooperation with the private sector.
In addition, participants took part in a simulation game to prepare supervisors for interviews with international experts.
